“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”

I love receiving cards.. the simple thought that someone is thinking of me can make a bad day great!  My mom and sister-in-law are great about sending cards for every occasion.  My mom sends me random cards just because she loves me.  It always seems that I receive a card just when I need to...bad days, sad days, good days...just because days! (God works in mysterious ways!!)  Our society has gotten away from handwritten "snail mail."  A handwritten card or letter means so much more. Do you send out cards?

After we lost Braxton, we got LOTS of cards.  It was the cards that were sent in the weeks and months after the service that meant so much.  It just seems like after a memorial service, everyone goes back to everyday life and the loss is somehow lost in the midst.  The pain of loss seems to be worse after everything settles.  The real reality of the situation can take weeks to sink in, and during those times, a kind word means the most.

I recently received the Simply Marvelous card collection from DaySpring to review.  The kind words and sweet verses are amazing.  As I was reading through each card, names of friends and family came to mind.  I can't wait to sit and write a simple message to brighten a friend's day.

Day to day life can be stressful at times.  Do you know someone who could use kind words to cheer them up?  Do you know someone who has recently lost a loved one?   Why not send them a card with just simple words like "I am thinking of you."  It just may make a bad day good!!

Would you like $20 to spend on DaySpring products??  Great...it is a GIVEAWAY. To enter:

1.) Follow my page.
2.) Tell me about a card that you received and how much it meant to you.
3.) Tell me someone you know who could use a "lift me up" card!

I will announce a winner next week!!

*The cards were received for free to review for DaySpring.  The opinions are my own.

I love giving cards, especially with a special note inside. My family always says those are THE best gifts... from the heart! Oh to say one person who needs a card right now... would be my sister in law and brother as they just lost their house in a fire and lost everything. They need lots of encouragement! Especially now that the "dust" has settled and they are left with the overwhelming feeling of their new reality!

I always write thank-you notes... and I know that wasn't necessarily the topic of your post, but I know that it means a lot to the people that get them.

Recently, I sent a card to someone who had gone through something that I was familiar with, so could empathize with her. She was so surprised that she called me and we both cried on the phone about it. It was great to know that I helped her to know that someone was thinking of her during her tough time.

Someone that I know who could use a card? Maybe I'll send one to you, just to make your day!

Hi! I'm already a follower :).

We also loved getting cards in the mail after our Caroline passed away. We kept every single one and still cherish them to this day.

I would love to have some cards to mail out to friends and family! In particular, my mom. She lives about 5 hours away from us and never gets a chance to see her 3 grandsons. I would love to be able to send her a little note with some recent pictures tucked inside every once in a while !

We received so many cards after we lost our girls. Some days that was the only reason I wanted to get out of bed was to get the mail. I love getting cards as well, but tend to find excuses as to why I never get them out! Would love to win this giveaway!

Every once in awhile I get a card from a friend in the mail with a scripture verse and it is always perfect timing.....I know that it is not be accident and God has ochestrated it. It amazes me that God loves us so much that He would make that happen. I love being used by God in this way and try to be obedient to Him by lifting them in prayer and sending a note. I have several friends who could use the encouragement right now....one who only has a few months to live, one who is in a huge life transition, two who have had to say good-bye to their babies etc. I am also planning on sending my hubby one in the mail at work as he is awaiting an uncertain doctor's appointment. Thanks for the chance to win the cards. I think that this is an awesome giveaway. It is fun to think about how many lives are going to be touched b/c of your willingness to give them away :)Whoever the winner is will be blessed and in return bless many more. Love the ripple effect!

Lately I've been sending a lot of cards to my husband who's at an Army school and to my sister who's away at school. I love knowing I can make them smile through my cards!

I love getting cards from old high school friends that I haven't seen in a long time. It's like we are pen pals again :)

I would definately send a card to a friend who lost her sister in a car crash. This was months ago, but like you said, they will continue to have bad days for years to come and a card goes a long way!

I'm a follower. I am the card sender just like my mom. She had a box full of cards for everything. She always told me, even if you haven't talked to someone in a while and you send them a card, it will always put a smile on their face.
